NMCE Network

NMCE seeks to act as a model youth–adult partnership.

The NMCE network includes individual representatives (youth, adults, teachers, youth workers, institutions, communities, organizations) who amplify the youth voice and agenda, while assisting young people become more engaged in civic affairs.

Shared power, collaborative decision-making, communication, and responsibility for action are all embedded in the membership and partnership process.

The NMCE staff includes Community Fellows who are veteran community workers, organizers, and youth advocates who represent the initiatives in specific regions of the state and support NMCE’s presence at the school and community level of civic practice.

NMCE also uses state and national expertise on youth development, service learning, research and evaluation, and civic engagement curriculum development.

These consultants participate as full partners with young people and local sponsors in the process of building model projects that represent local and national best practices.

Allies for NMCE come from every facet of public, community, and institutional life to enhance and improve the practice of civic education.
